Right from listening to his first
Fantazia, Dreamscape and Helter Skelter mix-tapes in the
early nineties, Robin H longed to be part of the unique
rave culture that left him longing for more and more.
Making his dreams come true, he acquired his first set
of sacred 1210’s in 1998 and has gone from strength to
strength picking up many accolades along the way. His
professionalism, talent, burning ambition and determination
to succeed have resulted in Robin H becoming a much loved
and respected DJ in the southwest music scene.
Robin’s style has moved across
the genres over the years, he began playing hard-house
at small parties around his home town of Dorchester, but
this was 1999, the year hard-house was rising in the UK
charts, although we have since seen its commercial demise,
so Robin’s tastes began moving towards the more underground
styles of hard trance and techno, inspired by what he
was hearing at his weekly visits to the Country Club.
Now his love lies with hard techno/schranz and his sets
have developed into a distinctive sound unlike any other
artists around him. Robin is dedicated to his unique hard
techno sound, but isn’t imprisoned by a single genre,
he will, when asked delve back into his vinyl collection
to pull off a classic hard trance set.

The turning point in Robin’s musical
career came in 2002 when he was offered a set at the legendary
Country Club. He rocked the club, captivated his audience
and won the respect of resident DJ’s and club owner the
Dance Daddy who invited him back for a further set, sadly
the Country Club closed later that year. Since then he
has played at many nights across the Southwest including
Weymouth’s premier dance night Exotic @ Banus, Ripsnorter
After Party @ The Depot (Bristol), Atmosphere (VIP Room)
@ Opera House (Bournemouth), Addicted Tour @ Banus (Weymouth),
Hard Trancelation @ Harry’s (Weymouth) and Premonition
@ The Candy Store (Plymouth). More recently Robin H has
become more of a headline act for events such as Urban
Chaos @ Lakota (Bristol), Resistance @ The Lounge (Dorchester),
D.N.A @ The Firestation (Dorchester), and Implosion @
I-Bar (Bournemouth).
Robin’s booking schedule has always
been busy with 6 previous residencies including the Chunes.Net
nights @ Banus (Weymouth), Bio-Tech @ Liberties/Klimax
(Dorchester), Chemical-Element @ The Grove (Seaton) The
Beehive (Bridport) and The Kiva (Weymouth), Gemini Project
@ Club X (Bouremouth), Genetically Engineered @ The Kiva
(Weymouth), and CHUNKY @ The Kiva (Weymouth) Liberty’s
(Dorchester)and Metro (Weymouth).
Robin had an exclusive mix played
on Route 66 Promotions show "BRING THE NOISE"
broadcast on ‘Techno.fm’. They featured Robin on a schranz
edition of the show, alongside Adrenalin (USA) and DJ
Ocram (Germany). A second show featured Robin alongside
Dave The Drummer and Sterling Moss. This led to Robin
being asked to do a set for ZombieNoize’s weekly techno
show on ‘Radio 4A’. Being broadcast on two radio stations
has given Robin a much bigger following.
Robin’s love and understanding
of the music industry is vast and has enabled him to organize
and promote his own nights, Genetically Engineered was
a night that toured clubs around the area and Bio-Tech,
a hard trance/ techno night that booked acts such as Abyss,
Jon the Baptist, Dave Scott and Cross & Spinout. The
nights were very successful, proving that Robin could
turn his hand to anything and make it work.
Robin joined Bare Cheek Recordings
in 2006 to begin a new stage in his DJing career. Bringing
his own style of new breed techno to the label. Remaining
a musician for the ages, Robin’s true successes happily
await in the future.
