The BCR The BCR BoyZ are one of
the pioneering forces behind the rise of Schranz in the
UK. There sets of deliciously hard, dangerously dark,
yet always magically uplifting Schranz are unlike anyone
else’s and have their audience captivated from start to
finish. The BCR BoyZ are a back to back act of long standing
friends and DJ’s Andy M and Swannie. Both very different
artist’s in their approaches to mixing and music production
but when ideas by both are combined it always results
in something spectacular. Their musical influences and
ideas seem to flow seemlessly into each other.
Andy began his musical career back
in 1990, aged just 11 he followed the dance music scene
attentively and would often stand and watch the DJ’s he
was in ore of dreaming of becoming a DJ himself. By 13
he’d made his dream come true was playing at ‘under 18’
hardcore raves around his hometown of Weymouth. As Andy
grew so did his taste’s in music and after 3 years in
the hardcore scene, he began turning his attention towards
the bouncy sounds of hard house. At 16 Andy set up Flashback
promotions and was organizing his own under 18 nights
at Weymouth Pavilion. This was an incredible feat for
some one so young and earned Andy a lot of admiration
and respect from many of his more experienced peers. One
DJ who had noticed Andy’s amazing potential was Doctor
Bee, who invited him to help run the Group Therapy nights
@ Players, Weymouth. This gave Andy his first weekly residency,
and news of this bright young talent spread quickly. He
was soon being booked to play at clubs all across the
Southwest. One such club was the hugely respected Monastery
in Torquay, where Andy played the warm up set for Graham
Gold. His bouncy sets and happy vibe won the hearts of
the clubbers and impressed promoter Sally Harris so much
she booked Andy there and then for future warm up sets
for artists such as BK and M-Zone. Another of Andy’s greatest
accolades was becoming weekly resident of the legendary
Country Club. For over two years Andy’s floor filling
sets gave thousands of clubbers memories that will last
a lifetime. These are just two of Andy’s 10 residencies
held as a solo DJ and his past bookings are just too many
to list. Andy has become well known for his physical presence
and crowd interaction, when on the decks and has also
been featured in a number of the major music magazines
including Wax, 24/7, Muzic, and M8.

Swannie too has been making waves
in the Southwest music scene since 1994. Aged 12 when
most kids were out riding bikes or using jumpers for goal
posts, Swannie was at home perfecting his mixing skills.
It wasn’t long before he was dazzling hardcore fanatics
with his superb play at ‘under 18’ hardcore raves and
local youth clubs but after a few years he grew tired
of the hardcore scene and started playing hard house and
trance. By his late-teens Swannie had become a regular
at some of the local night clubs around his hometown of
Weymouth, and was a resident DJ for Club 101. In every
set he played, Swannie demonstrated incredible technical
ability and understanding of music, attributes rarely
found in someone so young. In early 2001 Swannie became
a weekly resident at the Group Therapy nights @ Players,
Weymouth. It was here that he met Andy, and their friendship
grew over the time they worked together. When the Group
Therapy nights came to an end, they went their separate
ways in pursuit of their passion but remained close friends.
Swannie’s solo career is punctuated by two landmark achievements.
He was invited to join a DJ competition at clubbing institution,
Enzo’s near Salisbury. Over 20 well-established DJ’s entered
but his talents were only a match for one other and he
came second. As a result he was booked on numerous other
prestigious events at the venue. Another of his defining
moments was being invited to play at a new comer’s night
at the world renowned Country Club. His flawless, energetic
set kept the clubbers captivated from start to finish.
Club owner Dance Daddy could see that this young man had
what it takes to go a long way in the music industry and
invited Swannie back on numerous other occasions until
eventually he joined Meri, Andy M, Cross and Spinout,
Jim Bong and Jon The Baptist as a weekly resident. Once
again Andy and Swannie were working closely together.
In October
2002 the country club opened its door’s for one last finale,
a night that will never be forgotten, over 700 clubbers
had to be turned away as the club had reached its capacity.
The dream dies but a legend lives on. This left emptiness
in the lives of Andy and Swannie and all who’d made it
their weekly highlight for years. It was at this point
that they decided to join forces and the dynamic duo,
the BCR BoyZ was born. Fuelled by their desire to control
their own musical destinies, they put all their spare
time into Bare Cheek Recordings, the label Andy had been
trying to get off the ground since the turn of the millennium.
They have been the proud owner’s of Bare Cheek Recordings
for over 8 years now, the label has come a long way because
of their determination to succeed, love for what they
do and ambition to maintain a high quality in all avenues
of the music industry.

Even a basic list of their recent
successes reads like a lifetime of work. The BoyZ have
left their mark on the some of the biggest and best clubs,
parties and raves all over the UK. Just a handful of the
nights they’ve played at include Next Generation, Harder
Help, Deception, Alliance, Headstomper, The Bare Cheek
Party, all three of Weymouth’s premier dance night Exotic,
the Lisa Lashes night at Banus nightclub (Weymouth) and
have joined every Chunes.Net night @ Banus. More recently
the BoyZ have been taking Wales by storm they have brought
their club rocking schranz to nights that include Rude
Awakening Vs Hardcore Hysteria, Urban Chaos, Audio Deprivation,
Rude Awakening & Stimulate’s FUSED and Revolution.
Over the years, they haven’t simply
been playing great music, they’ve been making it too.
The BCR BoyZ fall among the most innovative & creative
producers the UK has to offer. They want clubbers to experience
the very best highs a record has to offer so they give
many of their newly acquired tracks some love in their
studio, re-editing, mastering and tweaking musical creations
to perfection. They also write and produce a lot of there
own material which they drop into their sets frequently.
To date they have had two of their masterpieces released
on Bare Cheek Recordings, BCR 001 “The Way of the Samurai”
co-written with Iain Cross and Jon the Baptist. BCR 002
“Lost In Las Vegas” written with Jon The Baptist.
The BCR BoyZ have also reached
new audiences on the radio, for over six months they played
a live hour set weekly on dance-radio, exciting listeners
across the length and breadth of the UK. Back in 2004
they had the honor of playing at Fire FM’s Sound Clash
which was broadcast live on the radio. On an open air
stage in the middle of Boscombe Park the BoyZ performed
their first ever live PA and DJ set, showcasing only their
own tunes, alongside the Ministry Of Sound’s Chris Bailey.
They’ve had the pleasure of Joining Iain Cross on his
Maximum Radio show hosted on the ‘Digitally Imported’
internet radio station. Over 2000 listener’s tuned in
for Iain’s hard trance set followed by the BoyZ schranz
set. More recently they have been broadcast on the highly
acclaimed Basslover radio show, the BCR BoyZ “Terror V2”
mix was played alongside an exclusive mix by Sven Whittekind.
The BCR BoyZ remain incredibly
grounded about their achievements and clearly love making
and playing music above the accolades it brings.
